THE TRAIL DAMES FOUNDATION
What Is the Trail Dames Foundation?
The Trail Dames Foundation is a public charity which was created to provide financial support to Trail Dames and other women-specific organizations for charitable and educational outreach. That outreach includes, but is not limited to, programs centered on women in social crisis, education focused on Leave No Trace Principals and Wilderness First Aid, and women-led groups of trail maintenance around the country.
Support for the Trail Dames Foundation comes from a variety of individual donors and foundations. The Trail Dames Foundation does not accept donations from any political party or affiliate.
Trail Dames Give Back
We are both grateful for the things we have and blessed to be able to give back to the community of women. We do this in a myriad of ways from maintaining trails to supporting organizations that support women in crisis. Our efforts to give back include Grace Hikes, Project I Hate Pink, Alzheimer’s Walk and Trail Magic.
Trail Dames Maintain
Trail maintenance efforts are our way of showing gratitude for the beautiful trails we are fortunate enough to travel.
Trail Dames Educate
It is our goal to leave the trails we visit a better place for our having been there, and to teach the women of Trail Dames how to carry these ideals into their own communities.
