Susan, aka Grace
Co-Head Dame
Knoxville Chapter

Hello fellow Trail Dames!
I'm Susan, aka Grace and I feel as if I already know many of you already. Being the first Life Member of Trail Dames, it has been exciting watching the group grow from a Georgia Chapter to what it is now.
Up until this year, I have been a silent member but a busy one. I having the AT from Springer to NJ. in 1999, the 80 miles of Georgia in 2002, Springer to Neels Gap in 2007, Springer to Hot Springs in 2008 + All of these hikes were intended to be Thru Hikes! There have even been many day hikes and even a few overnighters along the way.
Needless to say, there are certainly some challenges to overcome and as you get to know me better you will understand. I would like to believe that these challenges have taught me a lot.
My new mantra is: It does not matter how many times you fall down, as long as you get back up! I know this sounds a lot like fall down 7 get up 8 but my husband and I have yet to agree on how that is even possible!
Looking forward to meeting you all!

Susan
aka Grace (not so graceful)

Julie Wilson-Freeman
Co-Head Dame
Knoxville Chapter

My name is Julie Wilson-Freeman and I am a hiker. I have hiked 6,000 Appalachian Trail miles and was blessed to be able to do a thru-hike of the AT in 2018. To say I love hiking would be an understatement. I have recently moved to Cosby, TN and am so very excited to be involved with Trail Dames. I am looking forward to hiking in and around the Great Smoky Mountain National Park with amazing and wonderful women that also love hiking. My trail name is Stripper and when we get together I will gladly explain exactly how I got that name; however, I will tell you that it did not involve clothing in any way! I am excited to get to know each of you and am eager to put our feet on some trails!
